The city of Berlin looks back on a changeable history. It was medieval market place and residence for emperors and kings. Its developing into a pulsating modern metropolis was stopped by the Nazis. War destruction the division of the city and the separated new beginning and rebuilding left its mark on the cityscape until today. Over the last years Berlin got another new face since it has been built up to a representative capital city.
On our tour through the city centre we will find traces of all these time periods. We will ride through the oldest part of Berlin and pass by the last remaining ancient buildings as well as later reconstructed areas like the Nikolaiviertel. We will gaze at magnificent buildings from Prussian times on the famous boulevard Unter den Linden and crossing Alexanderplatz we will take a look at the creation of the new centre of former east - Berlin. We will go on search for the last pieces of the Berlin wall and follow along the death strip on wich we now find the high - raisers of Potsdamer Platz and the new government quarter.
Berlin is a city of contrasts. Old and new relaxed and busy, quiet and representative lie close together here. On our tour we will get to know all of these facets an enjoy Berlin as a lively and lovable big city.
