Located in West Berlin on Unter den Linden, it was built in the end of the 18th century under the Prussian monarchy. Since the Wall Fall, the Gate has become an icon of freedom and unification.
Built in the 19th century, it housed the Reichstag - the German Imperial Diet - from 1864 until 1933. After a long period of disuse during the II World War and The Cold War, it became the seat of the current German Parliament in 1999, the Bundestag
Listed in UNESCO in 1999, it is located in the district of Mitte.It is basically the northern part of an island in the Spree river where five museums have been constructedsince 1930: Altes Museum (Old Museum), Neues Museum(New Museum), Alte Nationalgallerie (Old National Gallery), Bode Museum, Pergamon Museum.
Also known as Alex, it is a wide square located in the Mitte district, next to the Fernsehturm - the TV Tower. It was built in 1805 by order of King Frederik William III of Prussia and named in honorof the Russian Emperor Alexander I visiting Berlin.
