Belonging to the district of Tempelhof-Schöneberg, it housed many notable peopleas Marlene Dietrich, Albert Einstein and David Bowie. Here the U.S. President, J.F. Kennedy, has hodl his famous speech "Ich bin ein Berliner" on 26th June 1963 at Rathaus Schöneberg.
The Schaubühne Theatre by Erich Mendelsohn, the oldest mosque of Germany from 1926(Ahmadiyya Mosque Berlin and the Neo-Gothic Roman Saint Luudwig Church are some of the many landmarks of this mainly residential subdistrict of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.
Well-known for its many landmarks as the Charlottenburg Palace, the Kurfürstendamm avenue and the Bahnhof Zoo, this locality belongs to the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorfborough. It was the commercial center of West Berlin during the Cold War and background of the German student movement protests during the late 1960s.
